I spent the first 2 days of the week in Nashville with K teachers! Wonderful conference. Always fun to be around 500+ kindergarten teachers. Centers "make & take" workshops were on Wednesday and Thursday in Knoxville, TN and Atlanta, GA. Many questions came up about the common core standards. As each of our districts move forward toward implementation we have to be thinking about aligning report cards, educating parents and keeping the fun in our classrooms!!! I have been privileged to work in an IL district, as a consultant, where we have aligned the K, 1 & 2 report cards and done a fair amount of parent education. I expect to see the district work on 3rd grade next. Share how your district is moving toward the Common Core and your thoughts!
